Get on the Air

FYI – Morse Code is no longer required for you to get your license. How ever, morse is more popular today than it even has been. It can be fun, doesn’t require complex equipment and can be used to establish communication when other modes can’t. When an emergency or disaster strikes, morse code might be your best friend.

The Cambridge Amateur Radio Association wants to help you get on the air – legally! We offer classroom training and testing. Even if you’re looking to upgrade an existing license or renew, we’ve got the tools and people.

The CARA/Laurel VEC Test Group will be giving free exams at the Guernsey County Administration Building, 627 Wheeling Ave, Cambridge, following our Monthly Business Meeting at 1PM. You must bring two forms of ID – one must be a photo ID (Drivers License and Social Security card are recommended). If upgrading, you must bring your current license as well as a photocopy of your license. To register, please contact Jim Shaw, AB8P (ab8plshaw@yahoo.com). Walk-ins are welcome, pre-registration preferred.

Check out our calendar for upcoming courses and testing.
